Hi Tracey, I'd definitely recommend Bicol to anyone. There were many more dishes I wanted to add but it was getting to long already. Sarap! On the butanding, you don't have to be an amazing swimmer...If you are comfortable with it, you can be pulled around while clinging to a flotation device (I saw some folks doing that, including a little kid). Just a thought!

Thanks for sharing this! My husband and I want to explore more of the Philippines and Bicol is definitely high on the list. I'm fascinated by butanding but am not a very good swimmer, so I don't know how I'll be able to experience them as closely. 8-/

Still, that shouldn't stop me from exploring! Thanks also for highlighting the regional specialties - they look delicious!
